… and really, nowhere to go.

The other day, I somehow ended up on the Neiman Marcus website, and on a whim, clicked on “designer evening gowns.” I had absolutely no reason to do so. I a) cannot afford any of this and b) have nowhere to wear it. But oh what fun to envision dressing up in one of these stunning pieces. I would love to be one of those seat fillers at an award show one day, just for the excuse to dress up in something this amazing. Except…I’d still need a designer to loan me the dress. Wah wah.

PS, is it just me, or are most of these models kind of awkward? Looks like there are several cases of the dress wearing the woman…

In any case, if you needed a ball gown on the fly, which one would you pick? I personally think Jason Wu can do no wrong…although that ombre Monique Lhuillier dress (#10) is très gorgeous too…

  1. That neon pink Michael Kors is insanity. Actually all of them are incredible. I wish I had an occasion… and someone to buy one of these for me!

  2. Absolutely gorgeous gowns! That Jason Wu one is just a dream. I just need an event and a loan…

  3. Such beautiful picks! I really love the Lanvin!

  4. Is it just me or should normal women have more opportunities to dress up like this in their lives? Going to dances in high school when you have zero budget and your own wedding is just not enough in my opinion.

    Thanks for posting!

  5. These are all SO gorgeous I cannot even begin to pick a favorite. I wish I had some fancy event to go to!

  6. holy. smokes. these are stunning. i could never choose!! great eye, sista!

  11. The long-sleeved sequined gown makes my heart beat faster!

  12. Oh my goodness, girl no.1 has a good (bad?) case of the skinnies. I bet she’s skinnier in person. Wouldn’t it be fun to rent gowns and have a girls night in drinking champagne and eating pizza. Possibly do some keg stands. ha!

  13. I looove dress #19 (and the model looks spunky!)

  14. We were just invited to a black tie wedding in Chicago and I’m pretty excited to have the opportunity to dress up!
I LOVE the Lanvin gown. It’s my pick!

  15. I do the exact same thing! Oh I wish galas were in my life.
Also, when you mentioned that the dress is wearing the women I had to go back and take a look – funny I didn’t even NOTICE the girls the first time around – all I saw were the dresses.

  16. I know, right? It’s my dream to actually have an event to go to that requires that kind of dress! I’m totally with you on the #10…but I would say that #15 would be a close second because that blue is GORGEOUS!

  17. #2, #20, and #12 are amazingg! Now if only I could snag an invite to the Oscars I’d be all set…

  18. you are killing me with all these beautiful dresses…. i wish i had somewhere to go to wear a dress like that!

  19. I totally do the same thing! It’s so fun to look through the amazing gowns just for fun. I think #12 is my favorite. The colors are gorgeous.

  20. It’s fun just to browse – now you should get in there and try them on!

  21. Ohhh these are stunning! I love the Valentino and the Bagdley Mischka!

  22. #2 is a dream!

  23. GORGEOUS!!!!!!! It’s so dangerous just to peruse the Neiman’s website.
