My Favorite Things: Design StILes

I’m so excited to kick off the guest post series with Irene from Design StILes. Irene’s blog is a relatively recent find for me, but it was love at first sight. Her favorites are love at first sight, too.  Take it away, Irene!

It’s tough narrowing down just three items but I think I selected wisely.

First off, my vintage lamp found at The Pasadena Rose Bowl Flea Market.

This lamp really was love at first sight and I can’t believe I was THIS close to walking away from it. Actually, I did walk away and walked right back and bought it. For only 40 bucks. I knew I picked a winner when I overheard people say, “Ooh that’s a cool lamp” as I walked through the flea market. The vibrant yellow drew me in immediately and I love how big it is. I topped it with a black shade and viola, instant favorite piece. The tassels are a recent addition.

Next are these are pieces painted by my husband’s great-aunt.

I found these in my in-laws’ attic and was like, “What the heck? These need to be displayed.” Now they are and even though I didn’t know Aunt Helen they mean a lot to me. They are in immaculate condition and didn’t even need to be re-framed.

Last I have these three scents (two perfumes and one candle) I can’t get enough of.

Anytime I’m close by, I make sure to take a sniff of each. I love each scent equally. I tell myself this most recent habit is totally normal. I also love how much natural light our house gets. You may pick that up from the last photo. Now I’m a cheater for squeezing in a fourth love.
